About the project

A GRWM reel where the outfit arrives on the beat. I took the viral jump-reveal trend, usually saved for travel videos, and used it to reveal a look instead.
The idea
I had “Look at Me Now” by Chris Brown on repeat and kept seeing a trend where people jump at the camera and the video appears behind them. I wanted to put the two together.
My approach
The track has natural jumps in it, so I used each one as a cut point for the reveal. Fashion is a big source of inspiration for me, so I shot my outfit to change in one clean transition.
What I learned
Lighting is everything. One cloud drifting over the sun between takes, and my “seamless” cutouts were suddenly not so seamless. Next time: every take in the same light, or negotiate with the weather.
Tools used
Where it started.
the jump-reveal trend, usually for travel videos. what if it revealed an outfit instead?
Two references I kept coming back to: the jump-reveal trend for the main transition, and fashion edits for how to show a look.
The final cut.
Best watched with sound on.
